Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) BEL will set up its new manufacturing facility in Sathyasai area of ​​Rayalaseema region. BEL is one of India’s key electronics manufacturers and produces a wide range of products, including those vital to the defence industry.

Sathya Sai District Parasamudram Manufacturing Unit:

Speaking at a press conference in Vijayawada on Sunday, December 18, 2022, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) Director Dr P Parthasarathy said that BEL’s Investment Committee has decided to spend INR 3,840 crore for the construction of the first phase of the unit in Sathya Sai area.

The factory, which is being set up on 914 acres of land at Parasamudram, will produce missiles and radar testing equipment.

BEL was established in 1956 with an aim to manufacture in Bangalore products that were previously imported from France. The company currently works on 350 different products to meet the demand of the country’s defence industry.

Of the 350 products manufactured by BEL, around 50% are developed by DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) and the remaining by BEL itself.

The Machilipatnam plant is responsible for manufacturing night vision devices for the military. Demand for night vision lenses is so high that the government is now proposing to set up another factory in Krishna district.
