But some were not so forgiving. One user criticized him for saying nothing about the millions killed and displaced in the Gaza bombing. “Aren’t you ashamed to speak about human values? You are an ambassador for @UNICEF and you haven’t said a single word about the people of Gaza or innocent children,” the user wrote.

He was an Indian guru who claimed to be the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba, a revered 19th century spiritual leader.
