Mr. Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modiis scheduled to visit Sri Sathya Sai District today and inaugurate the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NASIN) at Palasamudur in Penukonda constituency. The ceremony will be attended by Governor Abdul Nazir and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Built as per international standards, NASIN is set to become a prestigious training centre in the Asian continent. The academy has been built on 503 acres of land near Parasamudram in Gorantla district on National Highway 44. The cost of setting up this training centre is estimated at Rs 5.41 billion. Similar to IAS in Mussoorie and IPS in Hyderabad, NASIN will impart training to individuals selected for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS).

Preparations for the inauguration of NASIN were completed on Tuesday. Officials from the defence forces, central and state governments have already arrived and are involved in the preparations. Governor Abdul Nazir, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and local civil servants will also attend the ceremony. The Chief Minister will arrive in Puttaparthi at 1.30 pm in a special flight from Vijayawada Gannavaram Airport. From there, he will fly to the NASIN centre by helicopter at 2.30 pm and return to Tadepalli at 5.30 pm. Governor Abdul Nazir will reach the NASIN centre by road from Bangalore.

As for the Prime Minister’s visit, he is scheduled to arrive at Puttaparthi Sathya Sai Airport at 3 pm on Tuesday in a special flight from Delhi. From there, he will be transferred to the NASIN Centre near Parasamudra in a special helicopter. At 5.15 pm, the Prime Minister will return to Puttaparthi in a special helicopter and thereafter return to Delhi in a special flight. PM Modi is also likely to visit Lepakshi Durga Temple, Papanaseshwara Temple and Veerabhadraswamy Temple during his visit. Police have implemented stringent security measures at Puttaparthi airport to ensure the safety of the visiting Prime Minister, Governor and Chief Minister.
